About La Hacienda Day Gecko Villa | Studio
La Hacienda is located in the historic Old Grand Port area, the "cradle" of Mauritian civilization. The property overlooks a large bay with several river tributaries that served as the first port for the Dutch colonists who arrived in 1598. It also overlooks the sea and the outer islands where the famous battle between the French and the British took place in 1810.
Vieux Grand Port
Located in Mahébourg, in the southern region of Mauritius, the village of Vieux Grand Port has preserved its authenticity and charm and has become a privileged place for a return to the source. Those who decide to visit this small piece of land closing the Bay of Grand Port will have the opportunity to discover an area marked by the history of the island as well as monuments, witnesses to memorable events in the country's past.
- As from 01st October 2021, Covid-19 protocols applicable for Mauritian Citizens or Holder of local Residents' Permit (subject to change as per the Tourism Authority):
- Vaccination card and ID card are compulsory, and must be presented at reception counter upon arrival
- All non-vaccinated guests against Covid-19 will not be allowed access to Villa/Apartment
- Children under 18 years old are currently exempted from vaccination at this time. They will be allowed to stay in the same Villa/Apartment if accompanied by their parents or a relative (adult) who is fully vaccinated
- ALL locals should be fully vaccinated at least 30 days prior the event - with 2 doses of a Covid-19 vaccine recognised by the Mauritian authorities
- The validated vaccines are: AstraZeneca Covishield, AstraZeneca Vaxzeria, Covaxin, Johnson&Johnson (1 dose), Moderna, Pfizer, Sinopharm, Sinovac-CoronaVac, Sputnik V
- If guests do not have the 2 doses or if the PCR test done is positive, the concerned authority will not take overall current bookings
- Villa/Apartment is rented for the number of persons indicated at the time of booking
- No visitors are allowed, except with the permission of the management. If approved, full names and vehicle number plate of visitors should be provided
- Covid-19 Lockdown Protocol: If a booking falls within a Lockdown period/Government restriction, it will automatically be cancelled & refunded as a store credit in your MariDeal account only
